It is an unused old stock item. The major difference between vintage Moretti plates and those currently produced lies in the "size of the murrine." Back then, "small-eyed murrine" were used, but now, to pursue efficiency and produce many plates in a short time, murrine more than twice the size of the originals are used. Therefore, although this plate is 16cm in size, the amount of murrine used is the same as that of a current 24cm plate. Also, this plate uses gray "murrine" (murrini, murrine), which are no longer made. It is a rare millefiori plate only available as vintage. The production method involves creating many glass flower-patterned "kintaro ame" murrine, arranging them in a mold, and after two firings, each plate is carefully polished, shaped, and finished into a plate with a soft, velvety touch. It is a plate made through a very labor-intensive process. It has a unique charm not found in mass-produced items and is a high-quality, luxurious "vintage Moretti."
