The most popular model of Sony's compact tape recorder. Slim at 28mm thick. Uses two AAA batteries. It has all the basic functions: record/playback, fast forward/rewind, counter, speed control, 2x mode, pause, VOR (voice-operated recording, stops when there's no sound), and an earphone jack. The belt has been replaced with a high-precision one, and the speed has been adjusted. There are only minor scratches and stains, and the metallic design looks clean overall. It has a smooth feel. Cassette tape recorders are still convenient, so please consider this one. I'll include a used tape by Ichiro Toba or Yoshimi Tendo, or batteries for testing as a bonus. The following are common notes for used tape recorders: * These are items from 20-30 years ago. Performance is not necessarily equivalent to new. They are more likely to break down than new ones, so please handle them with care. * I haven't checked all the functions. This unit is not stereo. * I've wiped it with alcohol, but there may be stains that won't come off or things I've missed. * When you receive it, insert batteries and press the play button before inserting a tape to make sure the spindle rotates. * If it doesn't rotate, check the pause function. Also, try new batteries (pay attention to the battery orientation). Furthermore, press each button one by one. * Next, insert a tape and press the play button to check if the tape rotates and sound comes out. If it doesn't rotate, the tape is likely the cause. * Old tapes may not run smoothly. Rewinding the tape may help. * If the tape rotates but there's no sound, check the volume. If the pitch is off, check the 2x mode switch and speed control. * The sound will distort if you turn up the volume. The sound quality is not comparable to a large radio cassette player. * If you don't use it for a month, remove the batteries, as they may leak if left in.
