The outlet has been converted for use in Japan, and I used a shade purchased separately. I collected it as indirect lighting, but I ended up not using it and stored it away. I am now selling it as part of a decluttering effort. It can be turned on and off with the knob on the socket. When you think of 60s American design, you might imagine something rather bold, but this lamp has a delicate design, which I think is unusual compared to the trends of the time. However, at the same time, the brass of the socket and other parts really convey the old American atmosphere, and I really liked this balance. Also, as a small detail, the green electrical wire inside the clear-colored cord was cute and had a nice color balance. It seems perfect for rooms with a wood theme.
