This is a classic, traditional Tokoname-yaki Kyumatsu kiln round jar, size 2, perfect for making pickles, pickled plums, and miso. This item was used at my parents' home. The mouth of the jar has some minor scratches from opening and closing the lid, but it is sturdy and clean, a container you can use with confidence. I think traditional Japanese tools are valuable, but unfortunately, "Kyumatsu kiln" has already gone out of business.
