I purchased this to go with a black formal kimono, but I ended up using a different obi, so it has been stored for a long time with the basting threads still attached. I was told it was pure silk when I bought it, but I am not very knowledgeable about kimonos. There is also a storage odor typical of kimonos. Please purchase only if you understand this.
