These are celebratory chopsticks for a Kanreki celebration (60th birthday). This product is designed to add a special touch to a Kanreki celebration meal. The chopstick wrappers are made to resemble a red "chanchanko" (traditional vest worn during Kanreki), and are handmade, folded one by one. The chopsticks are the standard celebratory length of eight sun (approximately 24 centimeters). Giving chopsticks conveys a wish for "good health and longevity." I bought these to add a special touch to a Kanreki celebration meal, but we ended up eating out on the day of the celebration, so these chopsticks didn't get used.
