KALOCSA Kalocsa Pattern Established in 1791 to preserve "Kalocsa embroidery," one of Hungary's representative traditional crafts. In Kalocsa, a town famous for paprika production, women created lace embroidery featuring paprika fruits and flower patterns during the winter. This folk art has been passed down through generations in ordinary households. This is a decorative plate with Kalocsa embroidery hand-painted on porcelain. I purchased this 30 years ago when I traveled to Hungary. It has the markings 0089 and 41. I believe one is the product number and the other is the serial number.
