This is a masterpiece of Matsushiro ware, a representative pottery of Shinshu, and a jar with the kiln name of Tennozan-gama, an early famous kiln of Matsushiro ware. Tennozan-gama was established in Suizaki, Tennozan, Tojo, Matsushiro-machi, at the behest of the lord of the Matsushiro domain and under the orders of the construction magistrate. It was one of the early kilns of Matsushiro ware. It mainly produced large items such as suribachi (grinding bowls) and kilns, as well as carefully crafted high-quality small items. It is believed to have been in operation for about two to ten years, but it was a phantom kiln that ended early in the early days of Matsushiro ware. Therefore, there are very few works in good condition, and this work is extremely valuable. The kiln name "Kaku" is inscribed, and it is believed to have been used in the residence of the Matsushiro domain. The size is 28 cm in diameter at the mouth, 15.5 cm in diameter at the base, and 29 cm in height. It will be carefully packed and shipped.
