Unused fabric remnant with a white background and red-bordered tortoiseshell pattern. It feels similar to Oshima Tsumugi. It has a unique smooth, "tsururi" texture and a crisp, "shari-shari" feel. As there is no trademark indication, I cannot say for certain, but upon burning a sample, I believe it is genuine silk. The tortoiseshell pattern (kikkou moyou) is a traditional Japanese auspicious pattern featuring a continuous series of hexagons, modeled after a turtle's shell, and is a symbol of longevity and prosperity.
