This is Echizen bamboo dolls, a local craft of Fukui Prefecture. They were displayed in a doll case at my parents' house. There are two bamboo dolls in Japanese clothing, one with a hood and the other with a woven hat. One is clearly labeled as an Echizen bamboo doll, but it is unclear whether the other one is also from Echizen. They are very charming crafts, and you can feel the warmth of the bamboo. I think they would make a wonderful addition to a room as a Japanese-style interior decoration, creating a lovely atmosphere. ◇Size Hooded doll: Height approx. 17cm Base board: 5 x 5.3 cm Woven hat doll: Height approx. 16cm Base board: 5 x 11.5cm ◆There are red characters or marks on the back.
