This is a "Tsujigahana" visiting kimono, made by a renowned artist, crafted from genuine "crepe" silk, overflowing with beauty. It features a unique texture with a soft, hazy light in an old rose color, and layers of flying cherry blossoms, wisteria, hollyhocks, irises, flowing water, and cranes, all blending into the distinctive character of the fabric. "Tsujigahana," a painted pattern dyeing technique popular from the mid-Muromachi period to the Edo period, was so common that it was synonymous with dyed fabrics at the time. Samurai favored the innovative and eye-catching Tsujigahana, which represented the cutting edge of fashion. However, its origins, processing methods, and the origin of its name are shrouded in mystery. It disappeared with the spread of the Yuzen technique, earning it the title of "phantom dye." Although it is a beautiful item, there are some fold marks from storage. However, the material is wrinkle-resistant. It comes with a Pearl Tone processing tag, and the comfortable embrace of the soft "genuine silk" material, along with the excellent fit unique to "hand-sewn tailoring," which is different from machine-made. I purchased it on Mercari but decided to wear a different kimono for the occasion, so I am offering it at a low price. It is a very lovely and beautiful item, and I would like to pass it on!
