This is a Benge cornet. I bought it because I was drawn to the design. It's just so cool! Of course, the quality is impeccable as it's a Benge product. The playing feel is light, with a clear and soft tone. The high and mid-range tones are particularly noteworthy and very pleasant to play. Each piston, each slide, and the 1st slide trigger are working well. The 3rd slide doesn't have a trigger, so you might need skill to overcome intonation issues when playing notes like C or B. Des played fine. I used it once in a brass band performance, playing 2nd cornet, and I finished the performance without any intonation issues. I think the intonation depends on how you play. The unique shape of the tubing (design), the semi-circular (kamaboko-shaped) bell rim, and the all-brass body contribute to the soft and clear tone. When taking the photos, I accidentally pulled out the main tuning slide a little. There's a gap of about 1 millimeter, but it actually fits completely. Please don't worry. In the fifth photo, the crook of the main tuning slide is bent three-dimensionally, perhaps to make the design of this instrument work. I've been keeping it carefully as a part of my collection, but I don't think I'll have a chance to play the cornet in the future, so I'm putting it up for sale.
