This is a set of four antique Imari (Arita-yaki) sometsuke (blue and white) medium plates (5 sun, approximately 15.5cm) dating from the late Edo period to the Meiji era. They feature traditional sansui (mountain and water) landscapes drawn with a flowing brushstroke. Each piece is "hand-painted" by a craftsman, and the slightly different expressions give them a deep, unique flavor characteristic of antiques. Shape: The edges are "ring-flower" shaped, which adds a touch of elegance to the dining table. The inner rim is decorated with a lightning bolt pattern, making it a very elaborate design. These plates are a very practical size for use as side plates or dessert plates, even on a modern dining table. There are a total of 8 of these plates. I am selling them in sets of 4.
