Purchased new 30 years ago from a leather goods specialty store. It's thick cowhide leather, the old-fashioned kind. Being 30 years old, it doesn't have that shiny new look, but has a nice patina. It's softened up quite a bit since I used to wear it back then, considering it's thick cowhide. It has a decent weight to it, typical of double riders jackets from that era. The zipper is also a large, old-style one. I added the leather cord braiding to the zipper myself. I usually wear a size M and this fits me perfectly. The size tag says 40. I removed the material tag back then. The actual jacket has a bit more fading than the pictures show, giving it a nice look. Riders jackets look best when they fit just right, so I've chosen one that fits me perfectly. Therefore, even if you're a size M, it might be tight if you wear a thick sweatshirt underneath.
