While tracing the Korean people forcibly relocated to Central Asia during the Stalin era, the author encountered a song, "Natural Beauty," which was a popular song disseminated during the Japanese occupation. Guided by that song, the journey led from Central Asia to Siberia, and then from Okinawa and Yaeyama to Minamata. The book follows the footsteps of the Koryo-saram (ethnic Koreans) of the diaspora and women who crossed borders, seeking to revive erased memories.
