I've used it at live performances multiple times. I've confirmed that it lights up (I will remove the batteries before shipping). There is yellowing on the handle (photo 4) and minor scratches on the sides that are not visible in the photos. Please understand this before purchasing. Immediate purchase is OK. Item Type: Penlight
