This tea is made by gathering mainly stems (kuki) from deep-steamed aracha (unrefined tea) of the finest first flush tea leaves from Shizuoka Prefecture and then roasting them. This is the highest grade of stem tea we offer. Compared to normally steamed stems, deep-steamed stems release flavor more easily in the second infusion, offering a sweet, astringent taste and a deep richness. When brewing in a teapot, the mesh is less likely to clog, and the tea stems are easy to discard. Please brew with a longer steeping time than deep-steamed sencha.
