It beautifully portrays the conflicts of love and ambition surrounding a young entrepreneur who demonstrates his skills in managing a private hospital, the beautiful daughter of the hospital director, a nurse who secretly loves the entrepreneur, and a young doctor who is infatuated with the daughter. The innovative directing techniques that the then-new director, Kozaburo Yoshimura, enthusiastically attempted still retain their vividness today. The young entrepreneur, Hi (Saburi), is running around to rebuild the hospital run by his benefactor, Shima, who has fallen ill. Gin (Mito), a nurse who works as Hi's confidante within the complex human relationships of the medical department, eventually falls in love with him. Meanwhile, Keiko (Takamine), the hospital director's daughter, who is engaged to medical doctor Sasajima (Tokudaiji), is rebellious against Hi's unilateral decisions.
