My child is 5 months old with a head circumference of 42cm and it's starting to feel small, so it seems better to match the head circumference rather than the age! It's made of sturdy wool fabric, so I felt the size was a little smaller compared to linen because the fabric is thick. This is just my personal opinion, so please take it as a reference.
