Size: Diameter: approx. 19 x 16 cm / Height: approx. 3 cm 【How it's made】 ● The clay is flattened into a plate shape (tatara). ● White cosmetic clay is poured over the entire tatara using a ladle. ● A pattern is drawn with a cream-like slip (ground clay) using a dropper. ● When the surface of the tatara begins to dry, it is shaped using a plaster mold. ● After removing from the mold, it is cured over time. ● After drying, it is bisque fired at 800°C. ● After bisque firing, a transparent glaze is applied and it is fully fired at 1230°C. ● Two days later, it is taken out of the kiln and sanded, and it's finished. The clay used is made from local clay that has been water-sieved. The glaze uses a transparent glaze blended with homemade ash. This item is packed with the blessings and commitment of Hokkaido. It is made in a small kiln located at the foot of Mt. Moiwa in Sapporo. Hokkaido's raw clay is water-sieved and aged for about six months to a year, and the glaze uses plant ash and soil and stones from the Sapporo area. Each piece is carefully made with local clay.
