This is a Magatama (comma-shaped bead) made of sulfide jasper from Aomori Prefecture. It contains a high amount of sulfur and smells like a soft-boiled egg when being cut. It's similar to pyrite, but doesn't have the beautiful flower-like patterns of marcasite. ☆ Those with sulfur allergies should refrain from purchasing. ☆ Please be aware that sulfur may bloom as a white powder if left for a long period.
