Born in 1957. Graduated from the Photography Arts Department of Tokyo College of Photography in 1981, and from the Research Department in 1983. Began presenting works using large-format cameras in 1981. Gained attention for "In Tokyo," which captured the Tokyo cityscape, and later released "Artificial Paradise," "WASTE," etc. Received the Leopold Godowsky Jr. Color Photography Award in 1998.
