Thank you for viewing. This item for sale is a 1950s Brown's BEACH JACKET. I purchased this beautiful jacket about 25 years ago. At that time, I had the sleeves slimmed down. However, for this sale, I have undone most of the seams and widened the sleeves from the armhole to the elbow to make them more comfortable to move in. I have attached scraps of the same material that were left over from the slimming process, as well as a 100% wool plain weave fabric with a similar texture. The lining and piping are made of 100% cotton black high-density plain weave fabric, and the collar lining is made of 100% linen black twill weave fabric. The sewing thread is 100% cotton black. The Brown's Beach Jacket fabric itself has some repairs, but it is still relatively sturdy and has a clean surface. There is some fading and yellowing overall. The photos unfortunately make the jacket appear black and white, and the colors are not accurately represented. The surface is a combination of navy, gray, and off-white. The photo taken during the day is the 20th photo. The brushed back of the fabric is navy blue. The SCOVILL snap buttons have no noticeable peeling or damage and are a clean, deep black. The model in the photos is 172cm tall and of slender build, and the jacket fits perfectly when worn with a thick shirt and a thick sweater. It may be tight for those with larger elbows. The collar area has not been resized, but it is tight for me to button the top button.
