Thank you for viewing. This belonged to my grandmother. Two black teacups have come to light. Apparently, they were acquired on a lucky day in March, Showa 53 (1978). One teacup has the mark "Raku" on the bottom. As they are old, there is some wear and tear due to age, or perhaps it's from the firing process? There are small bumps on the surface. The bottom also shows signs of wear and tear, or perhaps it was like this from the beginning? I'm not sure. Although they are black, a reddish color is visible through them. They have a complex shape. The maker is unknown. ◆ Size: 11.5cm diameter, 7.5cm height Black Raku tea bowl, tea ceremony utensils That's about all I know. As for their value... They were used for tea ceremony practice, so they are at least 40 years old. I think they are antiques. Note: ● Raku ware glaze may be sensitive to acid. ● Raku ware clay uses a coarse-grained base. I found this information when I researched them, so it might be true.
