Ryoji Matsuoka RYOJI MATUOKA MO-3 All Solid Wood, 2000s This is a rare MO series model by Matsuoka. The MO series includes MO-1 to 3, and this item is a higher-end model. It was probably around 200,000 yen at the time. I'm not sure what kind of design philosophy was used in its construction, but the top has a large arch. See image 11. This is not a deformation after production, but clearly a bulge in the design. Because of the strong arch, the sound output is good from the mid-range to the high-range, and the low-range is moderate. The body thickness is also thin, so it has a good response and a crisp sound. I think it's more suitable for jazz, flamenco, and Latin music than classical music. Currently, a 0.8mm rosewood thin plate is placed under the saddle, so you can lower the string height by 0.4mm just by removing it. A 0.5mm thin plate will also be included. Since it's the same rosewood as the bridge, it won't affect the sound. There are about 5mm pressure marks on the bust and under the bridge, and it's in relatively good condition except for light scratches on the back. I felt that the sound of the 3rd string was weak, so I've strung only the 3rd string with Seaguar Premium Manbiki Fishing Line Fluorocarbon #30.
