This listing is for a set of Alnico 2 Rod Humbuckers These pickups are made using an old automatic winding machine inherited from a craftsman who has supported Japanese pickup manufacturing for many years. Instead of a bar magnet, these pickups use rod magnets, like those found in single-coil pickups, resulting in a "humbucker that's like two single-coils side-by-side." In humbucker mode, they sound more like a thick single-coil, and in coil-tapped mode, they have a single-coil tone. The resistance is high, but this is because we use a thinner coil than commonly used, and wind more of it.
