Document Scanner ScanSnap iX500 ⚠️ Offered as a defective/junk item due to the following reasons. ✅ The device itself functions without any problems. ✅ The exterior is clean as a dust cover was used when not in use. ⚠️ Reason for being defective/junk ⚠️ The paper feed and output rollers were replaced due to aging. (See the red frame in image 13) Replacing these rollers requires disassembling the main unit, but I lack the knowledge to do so. Therefore, I replaced them using a simplified method often introduced online (inserting a slit into one side of a silicone tube and fitting it onto the roller shaft). Due to the slit, there is a slight gap, causing scanned images to stretch slightly vertically. Also, the bottom of some documents may be distorted diagonally. Everything else is normal, so if you are good at disassembling and replacing parts, you should be able to restore it to its original condition by replacing the rollers.
