In his 40s, he recreated the colors and simple shapes of the southern islands based on his collection and childhood memories, producing over a dozen types of toys, including Chinchin Horses, Haarii boats, and Tauchi figures. He devoted himself to creating and promoting these toys until his 90s, dedicating his life to traditional crafts. While there are still paper mache artists today, Mr. Fukurakura's traditional Okinawan paper mache has a unique flavor. With the motto "A Lifetime of Childlike Innocence" and "Health is Treasure," he produced numerous toys over a period of more than 50 years. This work is Ushi-Aashi (bullfighting), a figure modeled after bullfighting, which was popular in rural areas in the past. It was a popular pastime for the common people to watch the bulls clash with all their might. In 1997, it was adopted as a design for the national New Year's postal stamps.
