This area, where Kanimochi Shrine is located, was once a source of iron, which people valued as "more precious than gold." The "Hoki Chronicle" states that there were three iron mines in Kanimochi village, and it is said that the name "Kanimochi" (Wealthy) came from the village's possession of these iron mines. The main deity, Amenotokotachinomikoto, is a separate heavenly god with a remarkable divine spirit. Also, as the village is associated with gold (iron), many people from all over the country visit the shrine to pray for prosperity in business, good fortune, and the opening of luck.
