This is a pair of rice bowls (mutsu-wan) made by Susumu Morita, the third-generation head of Morita Shikki, which was founded in 1909. These bowls were made to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of Mitsubishi Trust Bank, and were likely produced around 1987. The wooden bases of the bowls are carved with the auspicious motifs of pine, bamboo, and plum. The black lacquered bowl has a small chip and some discoloration. There is no problem with using it, but please be aware of this before purchasing. Bowl diameter: approximately 12cm Height: approximately 8cm Shipping will be via Yamato Takkyubin.
