I'm releasing a collection of records I've accumulated. I'll be listing a few each day, so please check out my other records as well. Catalog Number: RCA – RPL-8100 1980 Production / 1980 Japanese Press / First Japanese Edition Condition: LP = EX+ (Very clean) Jacket = EX (+) (Quite clean) Inner sleeve included (Photo 5) This is a 1980 album by the Brazilian samba singer Beth Carvalho. It's available on Spotify, and I've been enjoying it just like my beloved "Vida Noturna" (Life is a Tavern). Fans generally agree that "there are no misses in Beth's RCA era" (or was there?). Both "Vida Noturna" and this album are, of course, works from her RCA period. Actually, this is the first time I've listened to this album. When I was a student, I used to scour used record stores for Beth's RCA works, but I could never find this one. So, for me, it's been a phantom album. Anyway, putting that aside, this album is incredibly wonderful, as you'd expect from Beth during her peak. The freshness of her singing, the approachability of the pop songs, and the liveliness of the performance are all top-notch. It might even surpass "Vida Noturna," which I personally consider Beth's masterpiece. In short, there's nothing to fault, and I think it's undoubtedly a top-class samba record that allows you to immerse yourself in a blissful mood. Condition Ratings: New > NM > EX+ > EX > VG++ > VG+ > VG > G New = Unused. Unopened. NM = Mint condition EX+ = Very good condition EX = Almost no problems as a used record. Clean. VG++ = In good condition for a record pressed decades ago. Average standard. VG+ = One grade below VG++. Has scratches and scuffs. Some noise may be heard. VG = Has scratches, scuffs, and noise. Jacket/sleeve may have tears or rips. Below average. ← Requires caution. G = Almost destroyed. Worse than VG. For parts, or as an object, not for listening... ↑ Not recommended, and of course, you absolutely need to be prepared to buy.
