The maker's works are mostly ken-nata (sword-like hatchets), and this hatchet is rare. It's a unique piece made with a single-edged steel blade, followed by the re-forging of the base metal in the "Kinu-gake" style. The blade is sharpened approximately 7:3, achieving both sharpness and robustness. The steel is Takefu Special Steel V2 steel, water-quenched. The handle is made of oak.
