Purchased over 25 years ago from an antique shop in France. Bought in France, this is a slightly large metal decorative plate from England. It is believed to be brass or copper from the late 1800s Victorian era, but the exact material is unknown. It looks like brass, but it could possibly be copper. The back is stamped "made in England." It has a sturdy, somewhat thick construction. While English copper molds are famous, this is an old metal plate with a raised rose pattern, featuring a very gorgeous design. This is a very attractive plate that is rarely seen, perfect for those who love antique roses. This is not a similar plate sold in Scandinavia, etc.; this is a genuine antique, made in England. The condition is as it was when purchased. There is some age-related dullness, scratches, and blue-green rust on the back, but overall, it is in relatively good condition for its age. A hook is attached to the back so it can be hung on the wall, allowing you to easily display it in your living room, hallway, kitchen, etc. I previously listed and sold a similar antique English fruit-patterned plate, and this is the last one.
