Ōyamato Shrine is a shrine located in Hoshiyama, Shin-izumi-chō, Tenri City, Nara Prefecture. It is a Myōjin Taisha shrine that has existed since ancient times, and the enshrined deities are Yamato-Ōkunitama-Ōkami, Yachihoko-Ōkami, and Mitoshi-Ōkami. However, the origins are complex due to conflicts among the gods, so they are omitted. During the Nara period, envoys to Tang China, who were sent by the imperial court to study in the Tang Dynasty, visited this shrine and prayed for safe travel before their departure. Also, a divided spirit of the shrine was enshrined on the battleship "Yamato" as a guardian deity. The following three items are provided: 1. Goshuin (temple stamp) 2. Yuraigaki (historical explanation) 3. Bookmark Items other than the Goshuin will be folded to envelope size. <Divided Spirit on the Battleship Yamato> A divided spirit of Ōyamato Shrine is enshrined on the battleship Yamato. In addition, the memorial pillars of Admiral Seii Ito and 2736 others, as well as the memorial pillars of 985 spirits of cruisers and destroyers, are enshrined in the "Soreisha" (ancestral spirit shrine) of this shrine. Also, there is a distance of about 250m from the first torii gate to the second torii gate of Ōyamato Shrine. This is almost the same length as the battleship Yamato. Visiting the shrine by passing through the torii gates is like walking from one end to the other of the "Battleship Yamato."
