"Shirane Manzai" corn shochu, a specialty product of Date City, Fukushima Prefecture, is an extremely rare shochu that can only be purchased as a return gift for hometown tax donations or at a very limited number of stores in the local area. It uses "morokoshi" (corn) and rice koji specially cultivated without pesticides or chemical fertilizers in the Shirane district of Yanagawa Town, Date City, Fukushima Prefecture. It is an authentic shochu characterized by its smooth texture, refreshing aroma, and delicious taste. It can be enjoyed on the rocks, with water, or hot water, as well as a base for chu-hi. It is sold at JA Fukushima Mirai Shirane Branch and Awano Branch, and liquor stores in the Yanagawa area. It is also available as a return gift for hometown tax donations.
