This is a Red Dao ethnic minority top that I purchased in Hanoi, Vietnam over 20 years ago. It has been kept as a sample, so it is in the same condition as when I bought it. Recently, the costumes and fabrics of ethnic minorities have been mass-produced using sewing machines for tapes and ribbons, but this is a vintage piece with hand embroidery and natural indigo dyeing. The intricate patterns on the cuffs are all hand-embroidered, a masterpiece that took time and effort. It has two brass bell buttons in one place, which is cute.
