With a short shank, they're more like a marabou tail fancy nymph streamer. Try slowly retrieving them in front of the noses of trout that are sluggish due to low water temperatures. You might be surprised by the results! The flies themselves don't have any weight, so use a sinking line to get them to your desired depth and enjoy the slow retrieve! You won't be able to stop!
