Natural whetstone, Kyoto origin, mountain unknown, finishing whetstone. I personally resurfaced this quite old whetstone. It's a hard whetstone that can be used for final finishing. It produces mud, but provides a firm sharpening feel. There is a significant chip on the back, but it doesn't seem like it will break. It's a good whetstone without streaks. The height varies depending on the location, so please use it with a whetstone base or similar. There are layer cracks and chips, so the surfaces other than the sharpening surface have been treated with cashew lacquer. Since it is a natural product, there may be streaks or areas that pull during sharpening that were not apparent when I tested it. Please consider this as well.
