The sound is excellent, and I had it adjusted by my trusted repairman before listing it. It's ready to be used as a workhorse right away. You can see the neck grain in the photos, and I believe it falls within the range of quarter-sawn. When you hold it, you immediately feel its rigidity, and I think it's an instrument that will cut through powerfully in an ensemble.
