This is a rather old Unzen-yaki teacup. It has the characters for "Unzen" and a mountain pattern carved into it. My grandmother bought it as a souvenir from a trip and kept it stored in its box. It would be perfect for someone who wants to enjoy tea slowly by themselves, or perhaps for making herbal medicine. Since it has a lid, you could also use it in a Japanese-style bonbonniere to hold candies or the like.
