We went to a Nishijin-ori weaving mill in Kyoto and combined the purchased Nishijin-ori obi (sash) with leather to design and produce bags and wooden furniture. These were exhibited at department stores, Tokyo Big Sight, and overseas exhibitions. We want people to use the high-quality kimonos and obi made with care by Kyoto artisans for everyday use, so we have started offering obi bags, obi remake tote bags, mobile phone shoulder bags, and kimono and yukata remakes. We are creating remakes of kimonos that are no longer worn, so that they can reach people who will be happy to wear them. These are one-of-a-kind items with a modern, original design. We hope that those who like them will be pleased.
