We do not use inexpensive pine, unknown solid natural wood, hardwoods, softwoods, ineffective binchotan charcoal, or fruitwood that is clearly unusable. We do not use easily cracked plastic. Occasionally, sap may seep from the cypress or hiba. ★We use a professional 4VOC compliant adhesive. We do not use overseas glues. We do not use the 13 substances designated by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. *** Perches *** ■We boil them in a large pot for 1 meter for 2-3 hours, then steam them, peel the bark, and sun-dry them for 6 months to 1 year, making each perch by hand. Thicker perches are dried for about 2 years. ■We do not use any pesticides or chemicals. We do not use tap water containing chlorine. We use well water. ■We do not use any wax or oil that would be a burden on the bird's feet. ■Beware of perches that are just cut, semi-dry, or made of green wood.
