This is an antique Hirado ware sometsuke (blue and white) plate from the late Edo period to the Meiji era. It features landscapes with figures, pine trees and plovers, and floral arabesques, divided into three sections. The rim is decorated with lightning bolt patterns, and the reverse side has the customary kushi-goudai (comb-foot) and Nabeshima Shippo (cloisonné) designs. The base bears the characters for "Kasho" (auspicious omen), a mark of Hirado ware. The cobalt blue used for the painting shows variations in shade and blurring, typical of the firing techniques of the time. There are chips on two plates. Please check the photos. Diameter: 18cm Height: 4cm
