Vintage Gibson J45 (1968). Cherry Sunburst. This guitar has had its adjustable saddle replaced with a straight saddle. It has a narrow neck (approximately 39mm wide). This is a true masterpiece, having been played for approximately 60 years. It has undergone various repairs under different owners, including crack repairs (from the bridge to the center of the body, on the 6th string side and the lower fret area of the 1st string side), and the top has been filled in with wood where it was worn. Additionally, there are eight round inlays, possibly to prevent top cracking. The sides and back appear to have no noticeable repair history. Since it came into my possession, I had a craftsman (someone who can handcraft guitars) inspect it, and I spent a total of 110,000 yen on full maintenance, including bridge replacement (50,000 yen), refretting (40,000 yen), and replacing the nut and saddle with oiled cow bone (10,000 yen each), bringing it to a state where no further work is needed for many years. Furthermore, the pickguard has been replaced with a suminagashi (marbled) one. The neck is almost straight. The truss rod also has room to spare. 12th fret: 6th string = approx. 2.3mm, 1st string = approx. 1.8mm The saddle also has over 3mm of clearance. The sound is slightly compressed rather than having a "scooped" EQ. The low end is, as expected from a vintage guitar. It has a resonant sound that current models cannot replicate. In addition to this well-balanced, tight low end, the high frequencies have less unwanted resonance, and the slightly subdued highs do not interfere with vocals, making it suitable for recording. It is also suitable for musicians who sing and play guitar. The sound separation is excellent when playing arpeggios or fingerstyle. It may also be easy to use when performing on stage with a microphone.
