These are two small plates of Awataguchi-yaki (Kiyomizu-yaki) with gold-colored overglaze enamel, believed to be from the late Edo period to the early Meiji era. These two small plates feature the characteristics of Awataguchi-yaki: soft clay with small indentations, white slip, and small depictions of paulownia flowers, double chrysanthemums, and reeds and geese motifs, all outlined with gold. The rim is also edged with red and gold, but it has partially peeled off due to aging. One plate has a glaze chip on the outer edge of the rim, but it is a kiln flaw.
