This is a medium-sized bowl I purchased at an antique market. I liked the unusual rim and decided to bring it home. I occasionally displayed it and enjoyed it, but I thought it was time to pass it on, so I am offering it for sale. First, the butterflies catch the eye. It's a familiar shape, but each one is drawn freely. Next are the three circular patterns, which are pine, bamboo, and plum. Each is stylized, and the atmosphere matches the butterflies. The rim is connected with a thunder pattern. The cut of the rim and the geometric pattern go well together. The outside has plum patterns. The blank space is well-balanced with the inside. The bottom has a "snake's eye" mark. The era is probably late Edo to Meiji. There are no noticeable scratches, but there are some kiln marks. Please check the images carefully.
