This is a silver teapot, likely made by the master craftsman Choyosai, for the Seishukan store, during the Meiji to early Showa periods. Seishukan was an art and craft shop opened in Ginza in 1906 by Hanjiro Ito, the manager of the warehouse department of Eiichi Shibusawa. Silver teapots by Choyosai for Seishukan are highly regarded overseas, and their transaction history can be confirmed at auction houses like Sotheby's.
