Katsumi Model Shop Product: Salon 111 Shonan Color Finished Product - Beautiful Condition This is the box style from Katsumi's electric train series when I started collecting model trains (1971), but judging from the way the body is assembled and the parts used, I believe it's from an even earlier period. ● Body: Sheet metal (tinplate) ● Undercarriage equipment: Individual parts attached to a circuit board. Material of the parts is unknown (die-cast? antimony?) ● Coupler mounting seat is not integrated with the floor. ● Trucks are drop-forged. ● The indoor lights can be turned on and off by adjusting the tightness of the screws between the trucks and the undercarriage equipment in image 10. Looking at the wheels, the flanges are worn, suggesting it has been run quite a bit, but the treads are relatively clean, so it seems to have been maintained frequently.
