◎ Seiichi Tagawa (June 4, 1918 - August 7, 2009): Japanese politician. Member of the House of Representatives. Eldest son of Seiji Tagawa, former Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly member. Representative of the New Liberal Club, Representative of the Progressive Party. He was a representative politician of the liberal and progressive factions. ◎ Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Department of Political Science, Keio University in December 1941. He joined the Asahi Shimbun newspaper company, but the following year he entered the Army, the 5th Infantry Regiment Supplementary Unit (Eastern 8th Regiment). After returning from the war, he returned to the Asahi Shimbun, working as a reporter in the Communications Department and the Political and Economic Department, and as the chairman of the company's labor union. After leaving the company, he became the secretary of Kenzo Matsumura, a member of the House of Representatives (former Minister of Education), and was first elected in the 29th House of Representatives general election in 1960. Since then, he was elected 11 consecutive times from the former Kanagawa 2nd district.
