Author Profile Born in Tokyo as the fifth son of medical doctor Choyo Senzai. The Nagayo family were traditional Chinese medicine practitioners who served the Hizen Omura domain for generations. In 1900 (Meiji 33), he transferred from Nanzan Elementary School in Azabu, Tokyo, to Gakushuin. In 1911 (Meiji 44), he participated in the literary magazine "Shirakaba" with Naoya Shiga, Saneatsu Mushanokoji, and others.
